Vogue India Launches! September 26, 2007
With Indian fashion making its mark as a fast growing market for international designers and fashion giants, Vogue launches a new magazine – Vogue India. The launch took place at Jodhpur on Sept 22, 2007. The inaugural issue of Vogue India features Bollywood stars Bipasha Basu, Priyanka Chopra and Preity Zinta; local supermodels MoniKangana Dutta and Laxmi Menon; and Australian supermodel Gemma Ward all on the cover, shot by fashion photographer Patrick Demarchelier.
Although we applaud the arrival of Vogue India, we are disappointed and offended that Vogue chose to have a non-Indian on the cover, in between two gorgeous Indian beauties. Beauty should go beyond just the Western ideals, hence the first edition of Vogue India should be represented by Indian models and women exclusively. Subsequent issues can incorporate international models to widen the magazine fan base.

Two dresses for the price of one! September 26, 2007
Bipasha Basu couldn’t decide which dress to wear – the blue one or the white one – so she fashioned a new outfit by tieing the two dresses together with some invisible tape. And look, its reversible too! The makeup has to be toned down also – rule of thumb: strong eyes, soft lips and vice versa. The next time Ms. Basu has a high-profile event to attend, perhaps she should look to Zac Posen’s purple-hued gown:
Christmas comes early September 25, 2007
Yippeee…Christmas has come early. How else to explain this cheap-looking red dress worn by Kareena at the launch of the “Jab We Met” music premiere? Especially the red velvet at the bottom of the dress. We just want to rub against it and purr like happy kitties. Kareena honey, ditch the dress; go for something adorable like this retro-glam, Vegas-in-the-sixties style, Alice+Olivia black dress and ditch the leggings (bare those legs!).
Tanushree Dutta September 24, 2007
Tanushree’s outfit is a prime example of why Bollywood stars need stylists! Where do we start with this hideous monstrosity? The cut is unflattering, the length shortens her, and the colors and fabrics are awful. In short, it makes her look stocky and wide. Please Tanushree, we implore you, lose this stylist or designer who made you wear this. Also, ditch the cheap sandals and cover up those knobby knees. Next time, opt for something more decidely classic, like this Black Halo dress, which will flatter your Indian hips and hourglass figure and black pumps to go with it:
