Falling from grace November 30, 2007

*Splat* That is the sound of a promising style icon, falling from grace. Just yesterday, we had given accolades for Natassha’s sense of style. And now this; it is 100 steps back for a style maven and a regression in women’s Indian fashion. Isn’t this a bit outdated even for Indian-wear?? If she had to wear something Hindustani, the least she could have done is researched the current trends and worn something more up-to-the-minute. We love this burgundy number from Bargello:

Kudos to Udita for most improved this month. She took our advice (haha, one can hope she reads this blog) when we suggested bangs to cover up the expanse of forehead. And she keeps it simple with a clean, cream-colored dress, cream clutch, blue necklace and matching heels. We like; keep it up!

Mahima and Tanushree November 30, 2007

So I initially thought that Mahima looked fab when I saw this picture of her attending the Sri Lankan Airlines Bash. Then, I saw this picture of Tanushree at the very same event. Comparing the two side-by-side, Mahima looks drab and boring, and pales in comparison to Tanushree’s glitzy little number. The hair and makeup is flawless too on the latter. Unbelievable that Ms. Dutta has usurped Mahima, or anyone else for that matter!

Bebo is looking slimmer and slimmer, post breakup with Shahid. We like the jacket and skinny jeans ensemble but could have done without the sparkly, kiddy belt. She’s the latest to sell their soul, ahem, endorse/shilling for products.

Reader Soundoff:
We want to hear what you think – is it ok for stars to endorse products? Would you purchase a product based on an endorsement from the star?

Natassha or Anita November 29, 2007

Natassha or Anita or whatever her name is…the girl from the Kucch to Hai movie…we have to give her mucho kudos for this beautiful red dress and impeccable sense of style. This is the first time we’ve really seen an Indian actress dress to the caliber of international style. The dress is simple but unique with an interesting origami pattern on the bodice. She lets the dress take center stage by keeping the accessories to a minimum and finishes it off with black, D’orsay heels. Love it! Let’s see more of Ms. Natassha/Anita’s fashion sense please.

Pet peeve alert! November 29, 2007

Not everyone may agree with me on this but gym attire should be just that – relegated solely for the gym. Just ‘coz you throw on some high heels and slap on some face paint, doesn’t mean you can wear your gym clothes to a red-carpet event, a la Amrita Arora. And do I see some gym sweat stains/dirt on the pants??? C’mon, throw it in the wash before wearing it!

Sophie Chaudhary November 29, 2007

Singer Sophie Chaudhary usually dresses with a certain panache and sense of style, so I was sorely disappointed to see this bruised number. The purple outfit makes her look disproportionate-waist too small, chest too big, and pregnancy belly. No, she’s not preggers but the cinched in waist and pleats give her the illusion of a protruding belly. And the bejeweled belt seems to be supporting her mammaries. There is such a thing as too much of a good thing!
