Rapunzel Rapunzel let down your hair…or so the fairy tale goes. Jiah took it literally to heart and let her glorious mane flow. We’re envious of her long, dark locks but not so envious about these dresses.

Drona Rhona September 30, 2008

Is Drona going to be another 2050 Love Story?? Can’t wait to see it *said with much sarcasm*. Well, Abhi and Priyanka were out promoting their movie and looks like they color coordinated their outfits. Abhi’s still holding on to his boot leg jeans and big buckled belt but at least Priyanka looks like a million bucks.
Update – looks like Priyanka is wearing her favorite T-strap Jimmy Choos while Abhi must have borrowed his Dad’s white loafers.

Koffee with Karan September 30, 2008

On the latest edition of ‘Koffee with Karan’, Karan had the opportunity to have not one, but two talented and beautiful Bollywood ladies on his show. Dia and Konkana both looked lovely in floor-length maxi dresses and flawless hair and makeup. It was hard for me to decide who looked better, so I leave it up to you. Also saw this lady (name unknown) on the show in a cute white dress and killer heels. Anyone know who she is?

Reader Offering: Karishma on Verve September 30, 2008

Doesn’t she look lovely? Thank you Megha for sending us the October 2008 cover of Verve with Karishma wearing a lovely green Shantanu and Nikhil dress. Gorgeous!

P.S. – Readers, I’ve been remiss in posting as things have been quite busy but I will be posting a ton more tomorrow! Also, my apologies for any screwy ‘Photobucket’ images that popped up on the site; not sure what caused it but I hope it has been fixed now. Please email me if you are still not able to read the posts.

Steal the Spotlight September 28, 2008

Akshay may have won an award at the CNBC Awaaz Consumer Awards (for what??) but it was wifey Twinkle who stole the spotlight in her ivory sheat with navy/brown geometric print detail. Only wish she hadn’t paired the outfit with gold sandals and carried a mismatching brown clutch. Compared to Akshay’s drab grey pants and shirt, she looks positively radiant.

Dress Sense Missing! September 28, 2008

Why don’t our Bollywood heros know how to dress? Surely they must see their Hollywood counterparts and learn a thing or two about clothing. How hard is it to put on a nice suit or if casual, some khakhis and a even a cashmere cardigan? Instead, we continue to see stars like Abhishek in the staple white shirt, awful boot-leg jeans and oh-so-manly buckle belt. To make matters worse, looks like he’s got himself a man purse. *Sigh*
To all our Bollywood hunks, we say enough with the boot-leg jeans and uncreative dressing style. For pointers on how to dress with flair and creativity while still looking like you didn’t try too hard, look to the fashion capital of the world. Check out The Sartorialist who captures everyday guys wearing their best (even while riding a bicycle!).

State of the Saree September 28, 2008

When did the saree become synonymous with skin show? Starlets like Shilpa continue to pull out the requisite designer ’saree’ that showcases skin for miles. Every once in a while, we’d like to see the original, simple silk saree (all nine meters of it) with an unadorned blouse (perhaps even sleeveless), a la Nagma. Don’t know about you but we overdosed on see-through fabrics, swarovski crystals, and barely there blouses.
P.S. Thanks to Sowjanya for sending us Nagma’s picture.
