An interesting Femina cover and I don’t mean that in a good way. First, let’s detract points for the editors using the same dress that Karishma graced on the Verve cover. Second, they’ve posed the two sisters in a very awkward way; can’t quite put my finger on it. Finally, why does Shamita look so horrible? From the makeup to the clothes, it almost looks like they deliberately made her look second-best to sister Shilpa.
I agree. This cover is not tastefully done at all, in fact I’d say it is tacky. It looks like it was pulled from 1998.
I completely agree… are they supposed to be a couple? What a weird way to dress and pose them.
Tuhina, that was my first thought also; there is just something oddly ‘couple’esque about the pose.
Did they think this was a good shoot? How can two adult woman not relaize how they are being portrayed on a magazine. they are sisters not lindsay lohan and samantha ronson.
Eeeek, the first thing I thought about when I saw this was that odd magazine cover with Cindy Crawford and KD Lang on it. Why on earth did Shamita agree to this pose knowing she would end up looking like the ugly sister?
Well, to add to the entire “couple” angle, there is Shamita in a suit and Shilpa, well… Anyway, mags have weird notions regarding a breakaway cover concept. To see a reference of how relatives can be shown tastefully, they must see this OLD shoot featuring Mothers and daughters, featured in Marie Claire a long time ago.
