Padma Shri Awards March 31, 2009

Akshay and Aishwarya both were recipients of the Padma Shri Awards and came with their spouses and families to ccept. Akshay as always looked delish in a pinstriped suit while Aiswharya went traditional in a hot pink saree. Although the hue and the embellishment does not do it for me, she carries it off somehow. The makeup also looks a bit overdone. Your thoughts?

Mismatch March 31, 2009

While everyone else wore their festive partywear to the Manish Malhotra bash, Sonam took the traditional route and went ethnic. Kudos to her for keeping it different but the ensemble itself is a mismatch. The bottom looks like a regular pair of black pants and the shoes are more appropriate for an office pencil skirt. Finally, the oversize clutch is a boringly brown color that it almost looks like a mailing envelope, albeit a bedazzled one. Mismatch!

Tutus Not for Grown Women March 29, 2009

Dia commits a fashion faux-pas with this overly sweet, childlike dress and hideous shoes. Just like satin rompers, tutu dresses should be left to ballerinas and little children.

Over (S)exposure March 29, 2009

Whether in Indian attire or non, Malaika is always consistent about one thing – showing off her assets in a blatantly overly sexual way (hence, the ’sexposure’). Even with a nice, simple saree, she opts for the tiniest blouse imaginable while in the white Herve Leger dress, there is no room for imagination. As for hubby Arbaaz, he seems to have only one pair of jeans and shoes; all money must be sucked up by wifey.

Polo! March 29, 2009

Cartier hosted the ‘3rd Cartier Dubai Polo Challenge’ in the Burj Al Arab Hotel on March 27, 2008 in Dubai. Along with a polo tournament, the event also celebrates the Mysterious India Jewellery Collection, which includes more than 500 one-of-a-kind pieces. Indian celebs and socialites, like Karishma Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Shoba De (with husband), Parmeshwar Godrej, hobnobbed with Cartier’s CEO Bernard Fornas, Christian Louboutin and Italian actress Monica Belluci. Must say that Shoba De looked best of all our Indian ladies, resplendent in a white saree. Karishma’s dress was a hodge-podge print that she could have done without. As for Anil, he seriously needs a haircut, shave and must lose those boots. Oh and start trying to act his age!
