Hot off the Press April 28, 2009

Deepika, seen here at the Peru Fashion Week, has been chosen to grace the coverpage of two Latin American magazines, and is currently in Lima, Peru for the photo shoot.

Svelte Deepika will be seen in Vogue’s Latin-American edition and will also feature in Cosas. Ace celebrity photographer Mariana Garcia Burgos has shot the actress at the Presidential Palace and Inca ruins. Deepika is the first Indian girl to feature on the cover of these magazines.

For Deepika it’s an experience of a lifetime. She was invited especially to be the guest of honor by Peruvian Minister of Tourism and Commerce at the Peruvian Moda Fashion Week. At the event, Deepika spoke a few lines in Spanish, evoking cheers from the crowd.

Not only that, the Bollywood actress is getting special treatment in the country. Deepika is staying in the Presidential Suite of the Miraflores Park Hotel, a magnificent architectural piece with a panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean.

Deepika says she is touched by the hospitality of the people, reported ApunKaChoice.

Asin looking lovely in green at the Times Food Awards but the dress itself reminds me a little of the overdone BCBG tiered dress that our Bollywood ladies love to wear.

Abhiwarya Coordinated April 27, 2009

  

Bollywood’s IT couple, Abhiwarya (i.e., Aishwarya and Abhishek) hit Shammi’s birthday party in coordinating blue ensembles. While its cute that they color-coordinated, the dress does nothing for Ash’s figure and Abhi still hasn’t lost his taste for tapestry printed jackets that are better suited for curtains.

Mehr on Harper’s April 27, 2009

While I don’t normally like socialities and star wifes on the cover of fashion magazines (after all, what have they done to earn it??), I do think the May 2009 issue of Harper’s Bazaar India titled ‘A Celebration of the Classic’ has appropriately chosen the lovely and classically good looking Mehr Jesia. Can you think of any other woman who could embody this cover?

Lakshmi on Vogue April 27, 2009

Not only does she grace the cover of Vogue India May 2009 but model Lakshmi also has a spread devoted to her hometown of Goa in the May 2009 US edition of Vogue. While I’m loving the India cover, I am coveting the US spread especially the beautiful shots of Goa and its culture. Lakshmi also happens to live in Goa, full-time, with her boyfriend. Very cool in my opinion that although being a world-renowned supermodel, she hasn’t shifted herself to the US or elsewhere and stays true to her roots.
